Children in the Pre-Primary Program possess what Maria Montessori called the “absorbent mind”, the enhanced ability to absorb all aspects of one’s culture and environment without effort and fatigue. Individual work is encouraged as an aid to this period of the child’s self-construction. There are several areas of activities included in the Montessori curriculum for this age group: Practical Life, Sensorial Materials, Mathematics, Language Development, Art & Music and Cultural Extensions. Through participation in these activities, we aim to cultivate the children’s ability to express themselves, think with clarity and initiate activities based on their individual interests.
